Best Cloud Certification for Beginners: AWS, Azure or Google?

The best beginner cloud certification is the one that matches your target job market. AWS Cloud Practitioner has the broadest recognition, Azure AZ-900 is the easiest enterprise on-ramp, and Google Cloud Digital Leader is useful for business and data-oriented teams.

AWS Cloud Practitioner

Best for maximum recognition. It covers the largest public cloud provider, appears frequently in job posts, and gives beginners a strong vocabulary foundation before Solutions Architect Associate.

Azure AZ-900

Best for Microsoft-heavy companies. If your target employers use Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Windows Server, or Power Platform, Azure Fundamentals is often the most relevant first credential.

Google Cloud Digital Leader

Best for business-side cloud fluency. It is less technical than Associate Cloud Engineer, but useful for product managers, analysts, and sales engineers working around Google Cloud.

The best answer for most beginners

If you have no strong preference, start with AWS Cloud Practitioner or Cloudify's AWS-focused foundational certification, then move to an associate-level exam. Beginner credentials are stepping stones, not the destination.
